POSCO Technology

New-era steel smelting technology that is environmentally and naturally friendly allows us to smelt steel from steel powder and coal free of impurities, reducing factory construction costs because coke coal is no longer needed as a raw material.

Strip Casting

This technology pours high-temperature molten metal into a liquid metal receiving vessel, allowing the metal to solidify quickly as it passes through the casting roll, and reducing its thickness using a rolling mill, while the solidifying metal is continuously blown with air and cooled.

Endless Hot Rolling Technology

This special technology originated in 2006, based on joining solidified steel. Flat steel billets are overlapped and sheared by machinery, and the shear force causes the sheared faces to join together.

Steel Rolling Process

Steel Rolling

Rolled with a maximum pressure of 9000 tons. The 4-step reversible fine rolling mill minimizes air gaps. It also measures thickness and controls shape, increasing the precision of thickness and magnetic size.

PILAC Accelerated Cooling Process

Accelerated Cooling (PILAC)

TMCP is a technology for producing high-tensile strength steel through rolling and PILAC without prior heating.
It can produce steel with high hardness and high toughness properties with minimal alloying, and also reduces CEQ, making it highly efficient for subsequent use.

Heat Straightening Process

Heat Straightening

Improves the quality of steel straightness for smoother surface finish and helps reduce part warping.

Cutting Process

Cutting

Cooled steel plates are measured and then cut using regular or gas cutters according to the steel type and thickness. This process requires consideration of the air knife gap and gas torch nozzle size to maximize precision.

Heating Process

Heating

To achieve the high-quality steel requested by the customer, we use a shot blaster to polish the metal surface before heating. Thick steel plates that have undergone rough rolling are of the indirect radiation tube type, and therefore do not undergo surface polishing before heating.

Ultrasonic Measurement Machine

Ultrasonic Measurement Machine

The ultrasonic measurement machine can check for blow holes or pipe lamination that often occur inside the steel to maintain the steel quality according to customer requirements.

SHINJIN has used POSCO's raw materials since the factory opening, which enhances product quality and provides assurance of trust to customers.

Additionally, customers in the South Asia region will receive quality certified products produced by SHINJIN South Asia from Singapore.
